Festival de Danza de la Tijeras

This holiday is celebrated on December 20, in the department of Huancavelica. It is one of the most comprehensive of Dance Andina, where the players have shown their resilience and their physical ability. The central instrument of the dance are the scissors, made of two metal plates about 25 cm. long, which together have the form of a pair of scissors tip of rome.

They celebrate the birth of the child Jesus enhanced by artisan creativity, aesthetic sense and the religious devotion of Andean villagers. In this way, the Andean Christmas has been gaining particular characteristics through the integration of the elements of each region as the execution of dances, plays playwright, the typical dishes and a variety of craft creations.
