Flight to Juliaca. Upon your arrival, transfer to the Titicaca lake and in particular the peninsula of Capachica and its little village of Llachon, a community of fishermen’s nested by the lake. Meeting with your local hosts. Night in homestay in Llachon.
Day dedicated at the discovery of the peninsula of Capachica and Llachon during a walk on the banks of the lake. Night in homestay in Llachon.
Day excursion on the Titicaca lake. Visit of the flotting islands Uros and and the Amantani island. Here, you could walk until the Pachatata (4200 m), and enjoy a magnificent sunset on the lake, if the weather permits. Return to Puno in the evening. Night in hotel in Puno.
Departure by touristic bus to Cusco. On road, stops for visits: the village of Pukara, the pass of La Raya (4360 m), symbolizing the end of Altiplano and the begining of the region of Cusco ; having lunch in Sicuani ; the inca sanctuary of Raqchi ; the San Pedro church in the village of Andahuaylillas, also known as the “Sistine chapel” of South America. Night in hotel in Cusco.
In the morning, walking guided tour of Cusco, the inca capital: the San pedro market, the cathedral of Cusco and the Santo Domingo monastery, ancient temple of the Sun, also named Koricancha. Free afternoon. Night in hotel in Cusco.
Departure to the Sacred valley and visit of the four ruins situated on the hills of Cusco. Then visit of the archeological complex of Pisaq. Stop at the traditional artisanal market before continuing to Ollantaytambo. Night in hotel in Ollantaytambo.
This day, visit of the archeological site of Ollantaytambo, the salines of Maras, the site of Moray and the village of Chinchero, « the city of the rainbow », known for its textile art. Return to Cusco. Night in hotel in Cusco.
Departure to Cachora and Capuliyoc. On the way, you pass by the villages of Limatambo and Curuhuasi, region known for its alcohol of sugarcane and of anise. Visit of the archaeological site of Saiwite. Upon your arrival in Capuliyoc, meeting with the muleteers and departure to the first step of the trekking until Chiquisca. Night in campement in Chiquisca. 2 hours of hike; -1000 m of height diference
Departure to the campement of Choquequirao. You cross the villages of Playa Rosalina (1500 m), Santa Rosa (2100 m), Marampata (2900 m). You discover a fauna and a very rich flora composed of tropical flowers and plants, and numerous varieties of birds. Night in campement in Choquequirao. 6 hours of hike; + 1550 m / -3000 m of height diference
Visit of the citadel of Choquequirao. Then departure on an Inca path until the pass of Choquequirao (3270 m) before going down towards the archaeological site of Pinchaunuyoc (2450 m). Continuation until the canyon of Rio Blanco. Night in campement. 6 hours of hike; + 200 m / -1350 m of height diference
Continuation of your trek by passing on a section of a former Inca path. Today, you have one of the most difficult part of the itinerary, because of, in particular, of the hot and wet climate of this region. Crossing of the Victoria pass, then going down until the community of Yanama. Night in campement. 7 to 8 hours of hike; +1300 / -650 m of height diference
You go through the valley of Yanama, then you cross the pass of Yanama (4500 m), the highest of your trek. Then, you cross the valley of Vilvabamba towards Totora. Night in campement. 6 hours of hike; +1000 / -900 m of height diference
You go through the valley of Totora until Plateria. It is the opportunity to observe the vegetation changing according to your entrance to the tropical zone. Night in campement. 4 to 5 hours of hike; -1500 m of height diference
Departure towards the village of Maizal. Here the campement will be settled with the only family of this hamlet. Night in campement. 5 to 6 hours of hike; + 900 m of height diference
Very early in the morning, guided visit of the most famous Inca site of the Peru: the Machu Picchu. Then, free time to continue the visit by yourself before taking the train back to Cusco. Night in hotel in Cusco.

In Peru, the hotel standards are different to what you may be accustomed to. Here are a few useful details on every type of accommodation: - Camp: thanks to the perfect organization of our cook(s) and muleteer(s), you could really rest after a good day of walking. We have a tent for the kitchen, another one for to take the meals, another one for the bathrooms. For two persons, you will have a tent with 3 places for more comfort. We also supply you a comfortable mattress and a basin of hot water at the beginning and at the end of the day for your toilet; and of course we prepare you warm and complete meals. - Homestay accommodation: Basic comfort, communal toilets, no hot water and sometimes no running water, simple but clean rooms, sometimes no electricity and the doors do not lock (however, there are no security problems). - 2** and 3*** hotels (local standards): comfortable rooms, simple and clean, private bathroom with hot water; some hotels offer rooms equipped with a safe, heating system, mini bar, … As far as our possibilities, we choose hotels whose geographical location will allow you to fully enjoy the town and its attractions.
In order to allow you more freedom during your trip, only a few meals are included in our programs: these are the meals during the treks (cold at noon and hot in the evening) and during certain excursions when the conditions make it necessary (on the Puno-Cusco road, in the Sacred Valley, etc). For the non-included meals, expect 5 to 10 USD per person. This allows you to choose the time, place and menu according to your desires!
