Flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival, welcome and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free in order to acclimatize you with the alitude. Night in hotel in Cusco.
On the morning, visit of the four ruins located on the heights of Cusco : Tambomachay, PucaPucara, Kenko and Sacsayhuaman. Return in the city center to visit the cathedral of Cusco and the Santo Domingo monastery, ancient temple of the Sun, also named Koricancha. Rest of the day free. Night in hotel in Cusco.
Departure to the Sacred valley and visit of the archeological complex of Pisaq. Stop at the traditional artisanal market before continuing to Ollantaytambo to take the train to Aguas Calientes, a small town located at the foot of the Machu Picchu. Night in hotel in Aguas Calientes. 2 hours of hike
Transfer to Lares, a place renowned for its thermal baths. Possibility to bath in before beginning your trek. For this first day of trek, a little hike of 3 hours until Huacahuasi. Night in campement.
Hiking day until the pass of Ipsay (4400 m), the highest of this trekking. The, going down towards the Ipsaycocha lagoon and then continuation to Patacancha. During this day, you can observe some herds of South American Camelidae like llamas and alpacas. Night in campement.
Going down along an Inca path towards Ollantaytambo by passing the village of Pumamarca known for its walls with zigzag. In Ollantaytambo you take the train to Aguas Calientes, a small town located at the foot of the Machu Picchu. Night in hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Very early in the morning, guided visit of the most famous Inca site of the Peru: the Machu Picchu. Then, free time to continue the visit by yourself before taking the train back to Cusco. Night in hotel in Cusco.
Flight to Lima. Upon your arrival departure by bus to Huaraz. Night in hotel in Huaraz.
Transfer towards the starting point of your trek : Cashapampa. You follow a path which crosses a forest of Queñales, endemic trees of the region. By going out of the forest, you enjoy an unobstructed view over the wide horizons, in particular on the snowy peak of Taulliraju. Night in campement in Llamacorral. 5 to 6 hours of hike; +760 m of height diference
Continuation of your hike at the foot of the immense glaciers until Quisura. Here you take a path leading you at the base camp of Alpamayo (5947 m). Along the way, you pass by the lakes of Ichicocha and Hatun Cocha, frequented by ducks, Andean gooses amd sometimes even by condors. Night in campement in Taullipampa. 5 to 6 hours of hike; +490 m of height diference
Difficult rise on a prehispanic path leading towards the pass of Punta Union (4750 m). From here, you have an impressive view over the lakes of Jatuncocha and Taullicocha and its turquoise waters. Then, going down the lake of Morococha until Cachinapampa. Night in campement. 7 hours of hike; +500 m / -1050 m of height diference
Last day of trekking. You cross the villages of Huaripampa and Colcabamba, and other hamlets where the farmers collect the wheat and the quinoa. Upon your arrival in the village of Vaqueria, transfer to the pass of Portachuelo (4800 m). Then, going down and continuation to Cebollapampa where the surrounding glaciers are reflected in the emerald lake of Llanganuco. After a little walk, return to Huaraz to take the night bus to Lima. Night in the bus. 4 hours of hike

In Peru, the hotel standards are different to what you may be accustomed to. Here are a few useful details on every type of accommodation: - Camp: thanks to the perfect organization of our cook(s) and muleteer(s), you could really rest after a good day of walking. We have a tent for the kitchen, another one for to take the meals, another one for the bathrooms. For two persons, you will have a tent with 3 places for more comfort. We also supply you a comfortable mattress and a basin of hot water at the beginning and at the end of the day for your toilet; and of course we prepare you warm and complete meals. - Homestay accommodation: Basic comfort, communal toilets, no hot water and sometimes no running water, simple but clean rooms, sometimes no electricity and the doors do not lock (however, there are no security problems). - 2** and 3*** hotels (local standards): comfortable rooms, simple and clean, private bathroom with hot water; some hotels offer rooms equipped with a safe, heating system, mini bar, … As far as our possibilities, we choose hotels whose geographical location will allow you to fully enjoy the town and its attractions.
In order to allow you more freedom during your trip, only a few meals are included in our programs: these are the meals during the treks (cold at noon and hot in the evening) and during certain excursions when the conditions make it necessary (on the Puno-Cusco road, in the Sacred Valley, etc). For the non-included meals, expect 5 to 10 USD per person. This allows you to choose the time, place and menu according to your desires!
Most of the time of your trip, your travels will take place in private vehicles: you will have at your service a private vehicle with a Spanish speaking driver who will adapt to your rhythm (photo stop, shopping, etc. …). Exceptions: - For the touristic buses Chivay-Puno and Puno-Cusco - Lima trips, you will travel in a comfortable and secure bus line with an English / Spanish speaking colelctive guide.
